The mission of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra is to produce, present and promote memorable symphonic music that increases awareness, enjoyment, and appreciation of music for all ages throughout the region.
Baltimore-based soprano Janice Chandler-Eteme returns to the stage with the Annapolis Symphony to sing Strauss’ Vier letzte Lieder (Four Last Songs). In March 2019, she sang “Ode to Joy” along with the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club in a rousing rendition of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
This concert will feature Stravinsky's monumental Rite of Spring, as well as Russian pianist Olga Kern bringing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 to life. Notably, Kern was the first female winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in more than thirty years.
